The general public is advised against encroaching on government-owned property.
The South Andaman District Administration, committed to preventing encroachment on government land, recently conducted an eviction drive in Aberdeen village within the Port Blair Tehsil. During this operation, newly established constructions on government-owned land by Mr. Gourango Biswas behind Tata Motors were demolished in Aberdeen village, reclaiming an area of 50 square meters for government use.
The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman has urged the public to refrain from encroaching on government property. Despite the Revenue Administration’s focus on the upcoming General Elections in 2024, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that this should not be seen as an opportunity for unscrupulous individuals to seize government land. Strict actions will be taken against any individuals found to be encroaching or defaulting on land regulations.
The general public is encouraged to report any complaints or provide information regarding illegal activities and encroachments to the District Control Room via phone numbers 03192-240127/238881/1077. Additionally, photographs of such illegal activities can be sent via WhatsApp to 9531888844, as stated in a press release from the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman.
