A & N Chief Secretary Shri Keshav Chandra IAS today visited the Onge settlement at Dungong Creek in Little Andaman and inaugurated a medical center and six new houses for the Onge tribe. He also  distributed LPG cylinders to the beneficiary groups under the scheme.  DGP, A&N Islands, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Human Resources Secretary Shri Satyendra Singh Dursawat, IAS, Director General of Health Shri Harminder Singh, Administrative Officers and Onge Chief Shri Totoko and Onge tribe members were present. The Onge tribal home was built by the Andaman Public Works Department with funding from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs under Conservation Development and the UT government under the Onge Welfare Programme. Regarding the meeting in Onge, a meeting that concerns all Onge people.                 The Secretary said that the Government of India and the A&N Government are committed to the welfare of all Onge people as well as the Onge people of the A&N Islands.The Prime Minister said that the Government of India has recently taken various welfare measures for PVTG under the authority of Prime Minister Jamman, including grants of housing, electricity, roads, drinking water, connectivity and healthcare. In order to meet the greatest needs of the people of Önge, we provided housing for them in 6 new buildings, which are the main part of the development process. “It makes me happy to know that these houses were built by experts in cooperation with the Onge tribe,”
