In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha General Election 2024, Andaman and Nicobar Chief Electoral Officer Shri B S Jaglan (IAS) convened a meeting with Returning Officers, State Police Nodal Officer and Member Secretary (SOVTECH) in his room today. Nodal Officer (Telecom Department), Nodal Officer (Communication), Director Telecom (BSNL), General Manager (BSNL), Airtel Telecom Service, Jio Telecom Service, Vodafone Telecom Service, Bharat Sanchar Telecom Department Nigam Limited and SOVTECH officials regarding network distribution in polling stations on election day As per the instruction of Election Commission of India, for all essential services viz. critical and timely delivery of POL products/gas, instructions are to be made for online dispatch. The electoral process should not be hampered by the absence of these essential services
The CEO further directed Election officers of North and Middle Andaman and Nicobar District to coordiate with agencies and dept. like EHL, ANIDCO, Civil Supplies and Shipping to monitor the availability of adequate Oil/Gas/Diesel stock in the Area in.
