On 10 May 2023, an unfortunate incident occurred where a person D.Chranjeev and a a minor boy Dunna Praney died after drowning while crossing a river (salt water) at Baruva village in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh . To help the bereaved family and bring them out of the shock and trauma of loss of livelihood, IAS South Andaman Deputy Commissioner Shri Arjun Sharma accepted Rs. 3,00,000/- as financial assistance to his wife and son for his initiation for the unfortunate death of family member Smti M. Girija.
Economic activity again. The amount was sanctioned “for providing financial assistance to accident victims under A and N Islands Scheme (not covered under NDRF/SDRF norms approved by Indian authorities),” DC (SA) said in a press release.
