In upholding its commitment to combat illegal activities, the PS Central Crime Station team conducted a raid on March 16, 2024, at Attam Pahar behind the Industrial Estate. The operation targeted individuals engaged in gambling. The police apprehended all the gamblers attempting to flee upon their arrival. All eight individuals involved were arrested, and a sum of Rs. 20,530 in cash, along with betting funds amounting to Rs. 16,240, were seized from their possession. They are facing prosecution under Sections 5/7 of the Andaman and Nicobar Gambling Regulation Act of 1951.
