As a part of the General Election 2024 initiatives, the SVEEP Team from the DEO (SA) Office conducted a Blood Donation Camp today at Junglighat Khaitan Mandapam. This camp is one of the many activities organized by the SVEEP team to promote voter education and awareness among the public, encouraging them to exercise their voting rights on Polling Day, which is April 19, 2024, as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Returning Officer,
ANIPC, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, who distributed Donor Certificates to the voluntary donors and presented mementos and T-shirts bearing the inscription ‘Chunav Ka Parv- Desh Ka Garv’. He also engaged with the blood donors during the event. The Blood Donation Camp was facilitated by the Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) in collaboration with the Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, and Directorate of Health Services.
The technical team from these organizations ensured the screening of donated blood units for transmissible diseases, while also assessing donors’ eligibility and briefing them on the significance of blood donation. Shri Wairokpam Punshiba Singh, IAS, Nodal Officer for SVEEP, extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, donors, and other attendees, informing them about the SVEEP activities being conducted as part of the General Election 2024 to maximize awareness and participation in the electoral process.
