The Chief Electoral Officer of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri B. S Jaglan, IAS concluded his four-day tour of the Nicobar Islands group from 27-02-2024 to 01-03-2024 to review the electoral preparedness in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha General Elections 2024. On the first day he reached Campbell Bay, the southernmost region region of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and convened a meeting with with the Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, Shri Abhishek Gulia, AERO, Shri P.K Sing and all Sector Officers of Great Nicobar at APWD office Guest House and also visited two polling station to ensure Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) .
On the second and third day, he visited the Nancowry group of island and convened a meeting on February 28, 2024 with AERO, Shri Anuj Kumar Bart and Feild Officers of the Office Assistant Electoral Registration, Nancowry. Later , the CEO visited the polling station GMS Kamorta and the tribal village GPS Munak to confirm the readiness of the station. On February 29, 2024, he visited Chowra Island and interacted with the Election Officers to inspect the election activities and also visited the polling stations to ensure AMF (Assured Minimum Facilities) as per ECI guidelines.
