A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, to review the progress of various works being carried out under the Gram Panchayats of the region. The meeting focused on multiple key agenda items, including sector-wise fund allocation, status of ongoing works, annual plan of total works, details of Solid Waste Management (SWM) clusters, and progress of the Swachh Panchayat Abhiyaan. The meeting was attended by several key officials and stakeholders, including the and Director of Rural Development (RD), the Executive Engineer of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI), Block Development Officers, all Panchayat Secretaries, and the vendor responsible for SWM in N&MA. ïƒ˜ï€ Sector-wise Details of Fund Allocation: The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the allocation and utilization of funds across various sectors. Detailed presentations were made on the current status of funds, highlighting the disbursements and expenditures incurred so far.
ïƒ˜ï€ Sector-wise Details of Ongoing Works: The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing works in different sectors such as infrastructure development, water supply,
sanitation, and rural connectivity. Each sector’s achievements and challenges were discussed in detail to ensure timely completion of projects.
ïƒ˜ï€ Details of Total Works in the Annual Plan: An overview of the annual plan was presented, outlining the total number of works planned for the current fiscal year. The plan includes various development projects aimed at improving the overall quality of life in the Gram Panchayats.
ïƒ˜ï€ Details of Solid Waste Management (SWM) Clusters: The status of SWM clusters was
reviewed to assess the effectiveness of waste management practices in the region. The vendor responsible for SWM provided updates on the implementation of waste collection, segregation, and disposal mechanisms.
ïƒ˜ï€ Review Progress of Swachh Panchayat Abhiyaan: The meeting also focused on the Swachh Panchayat Abhiyaan, discussing the achievements and ongoing efforts to promote cleanliness and hygiene in the Panchayats. Strategies to enhance community participation and sustain the cleanliness initiatives were deliberated upon.
The Deputy Commissioner urged all officials and stakeholders to work collaboratively to address the challenges and expedite the completion of pending works. Emphasis was placed on maintaining the momentum of development activities and ensuring efficient utilization of available resources. The meeting concluded with a resolution to conduct regular follow-up meetings to monitor the progress and address any emerging issues promptly. The commitment to achieving the developmental goals of the Gram Panchayats was reaffirmed by all participants, a press release from DC (N&MA) said.
